The mission of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) is to foster the competitiveness of Brazilian companies by promoting the internationalization of their business and the attraction of foreign direct investments.

Does Apex-Brasil provide a list of Brazilian exporting companies?

The Agency provides foreign buyers with Brasil Trade Guide (BTG), which is an online directory of trading companies qualified through a strict selection and monitoring process. The aim is to bring together foreign buyers and Brazilian trading companies specialized in certain products or markets. BTG is available at www.apexbrasil.com.br/tradings.

Other directories of Brazilian exporting companies are available in the following portals:

  • “Vitrine do Exportador” (VE): is an initiative implemented by the Federal Government with the aim of taking advantage of online marketing to promote Brazilian companies and their products in the international market. VE currently gathers 18 thousand exporters, whose database is updated on a monthly basis through the automatic insertion of new exporters operating in the Integrated Foreign Trade System (Siscomex) or through the Simplified Export Declaration (DSE). The operations carried out by participating companies are also monthly updated by the addition of new products and markets. The website is available in Portuguese, English and Spanish.   • Brasil Global Net: The web portal Brasil Global Net is a tool ran by the Ministry of External Relations which assists Brazilian companies seeking to enter the international market. Fed by many collaborators based in Brazil and abroad, the portal features numerous trade opportunities, including the country´s largest database of foreign importing companies and import demands for Brazilian products.
    Brasil Global Net also points to investment and technology transfer opportunities. Additionally, it facilitates the contact between importers and exporters, provided they first register in the portal (registration is free of charge), and builds capacity of the business community, which counts on a comprehensive list of studies and expert publications on foreign trade, including market research, economic indicators and information on trade fairs in Brazil and abroad.   • International Yellow Pages website, available for many countries. Go to www.yellowpages.com.
  • Kompass – Kompass is a global business-to-business (B2B) database, which gathers more than 3 million Brazilian and foreign companies and provides for the international contact between buyers and sellers. Go to www.kompass.com/pt.

Supporting the participation of Brazilian companies in international initiatives such as trade fairs, business rounds and missions, is one of the main strategies adopted by the Agency to promote Brazilian exports. The companies interested in participating in actions either developed or supported by Apex-Brasil should first request their registration in the Agency´s networking database by filling a form or sending an e-mail to apexbrasil@apexbrasil.com.br, and timely register for each scheduled event. 

Does Apex-Brasil provide Brazilian companies/entrepreneurs with information on how to export?

Yes, it does. Apex-Brasil has implemented a capacity-building project targeted at companies with potential to export in eight Brazilian states and the Federal District. The purpose of the Industrial Extension for Exporting Project (PEIEX) is to foster the competitiveness and to promote an exporting culture within micro, small and medium enterprises. The program also serves as a platform for the dissemination of all existing products and services offered by the government and its partners, designed with the aim of supporting these companies, such as credit lines and technological innovation support.

 

PEIEX is also one of the structuring actions set forth in the Productive Development Plan (PDP), a public policy formulated by the Federal Government and relying on the support provided by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), state governments, industry federations, business associations, universities, technological centers and overall business entities.

Additional information may also be found at the website of Learning to Export – LtE (“Aprendendo a Exportar”), a tool jointly developed by MDIC and Apex-Brasil with the support of various business associations which is aimed at building capacity of exporters.
